The Throne Stool is a new addition to the Throne series, inspired by the stacking shape motifs found in the late designer, Enzo Mari’s work. The rhythmic pattern of the dowels is a riff on the idea of a strut as a form of cadence, not necessarily as something that only serves as a structural form. The visual cadence of this piece is simultaneously reinforced and interrupted through the movement of the grain and the pattern on the dowels creating a negative space that serves as a positive visual hierarchy.
