Drop My Body

Nicolo Gentile is an artist and educator based in Philadelphia. His work explores the gym as a site of discipline, desire, and performance, tracing the influence of late ’80s and early ’90s sex and fitness imagery on contemporary queer aesthetics and identity. His work resists resolution, caught between nostalgic longing and queer futurity, one tied to his ankles, the other to his wrists.
