Boot-Stool

This piece by Wolfco Design repurposes a discarded car boot, recovered from the street, into a gritty, near-informal take on a plain, low stool. In place of a tire, the clamp closes around a large block of foam, so the mechanism that once held a wheel now holds a person. The boot's original function — fixing a vehicle in place so it cannot move — is preserved rather than erased, redirected from the wheel to the user. The result is a design that carries the blunt, municipal presence of its source while inviting a quieter, more voluntary kind of stillness.
