Dovetail Mug no39 is part of a series of works which integrate alternative materials with a ceramic vessel by way of a tapered dovetail joint. No39 exemplifies one of the more sculptural pieces in the series, where the visual interest of the form supersedes the function of the work as a "mug" per se.
